Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
An explosive atmosphere is defined as:
- Flammable substances in the form of gases, vapours, mists, dusts or fibres mixed with air.
and/or
- Under atmospheric conditions, which after ignition has occurred, combustion spreads to the entire unburned mixture.
