Hawke International Opens New Sales Office In Shanghai
Hawke International have established a new dedicated Shanghai technical and sales office. We will share premises and resources with Chalmit Lighting, Victor Lighting and Killark who are fellow members of the Hubbell Electric Products Group.
With a population of 1.3 billion people and an annual economic growth rate of nine percent, China is the second largest consumer of petrochemicals after the USA. This is a growing market where we must provide a high level of local support to encourage the specification and adoption of our products.
Oil and gas exploration and production is one of the largest markets for our products. Previously, the Chinese regions were supported by our Asia office based in Singapore. However, the increasing demand for our explosion protected connection products in China requires strong local sales and technical support.
Commenting on the move, Managing Director James Phillips explained, "Oil consumption in China is rising due to surging industrialisation at an average annual rate of 7.5 percent. Vehicle numbers increased by 19 percent last year and we see strong demand for our products in exploration, production and refining."
